A Tribute To Fall
Celebrating death amongst leafless trees
Of the wind tormented shore.
They fall like rain on a slight breeze –
A sign of death — and more.
Their importance slowly dwindling
Forgotten now their deeds –
Once vital to a sapling
Lay to rest amongst the weeds.
To be followed by another
To bring color to my days
Thinking why I even bother
Catching the sun’s rays.
There lie thousands in that tree
All of whom shall die
On the ground for all to see
The failure that is I.
Then it lies there — solitary leaf
A knight, a king, a common man,
Burglar, killer, and a thief –
All according to God’s plan.
