Birthday Poem — March 30, 2006

Posted by: Allan    in Verse -- Love

The avian flu may catch up to you
if the terrorists don’t get you first,
But the water supply is going bye
and you just may die of thirst.

Riots and bombs are all the rage
to destroy the world we call our home
so take some time to enjoy the rhyme –
this is your birthday poem.

Another year to live in fear –
The youth are marching everywhere
significance through circumstance
at an age we did not care.

More hurricanes are coming soon
and still no Superdome.
The world is coming to an end –
enjoy your birthday poem.

Holy wars are back in fascion
Denim’s out, fatigues are in.
berets are cool, so put one on
and cheer for your home team to win.

They’ll be announcing sometime soon
orange juice cheaper than gas
and in all our deluded comfort,
we hope and think this time will pass.

Save some time for lamentation,
I know it hasn’t been your year,
but with the globe in disarray
enjoy your birthday poem, my dear.
