Banana Fanna Fo Fallan

   Posted by: Allan    in Prose

Hey there!

Just thought I’d stop by and say hello. I was listening to Tori Amos’ “Digital Ghost” and something clicked in my head to come in and check the place out. Quite apparent is that a lot of things have changed, but I do see bits and pieces of the familiar. We still have a few things in common.

The pen is different, but the fire is still there…so obviously, I’m not quite dead. Especially not today, old friend.

An Old Friend

Posted by: Allan    in Verse -- Love

He must have died a while ago, I thought,
like many others who just disappeared in a flash of brilliance.
We don’t call him by name anymore and sometimes
Eberlin sounds a lot like him and I get confused.
He grew up, maybe, and got tired of the rest of us,
moved on to someplace I don’t know.
Maybe he ended up in the witness protection program or something.

He was an old friend from the early IRC days –
wild-eyed and opinionated. He never did say much, though,
expressing more interest in any scripting language
he could get his hands on. He had potential –
and I’m sure he would have absolutely hated
to hear me say something like that.
Evil genius meets teenage angst…
I could have sworn that was someone else I know
but I could be wrong.

I haven’t seen Silence in a long long time.
If you see him, say hi.
